Who is Troy Thomas?

Troy is a geometric abstraction and neo-minimalist artist based out of the Tampa area in Florida, USA. Most of his current work is created with archival ink from gel pens on mixed media paper. However, he also creates paintings and enjoys doing photography.

Artist Statement

I am of the belief that art does not need to have a meaning to it.  Some art can be created with a particular message, whether it is obvious or hidden, but what is wrong with art being created for art's sake? I like what Frank Stella said, "What you see is what you see."​

A person should be able to look at an artwork and have it mean something completely different than what the artist had meant, if any at all.  A person doesn't need to have some philosophical reason as to why a particular artwork appeals to him or her. Instead, he or she can enjoy the piece simply because of the visual beauty of the artwork.​

Where is the store to buy art?

I have decided not to include a store to buy my artwork here on my website. However, I might add a storefront at a later date. For now, if a collector would like to inquire about any of my artworks, I encourage everyone to contact me directly.
